Prototyping & Testing
Using in-house fabrication equipment, we build physical prototypes at scale and implement in-depth testing to gather actionable data. These findings inform design iterations to maximize performance and end-user experience.
-
Our team will create an initial physical mock-up to validate general feature functionality and overall fitment.
-
Our designers will perform comprehensive functional testing on every prototype created in order to gather data for the product’s evolution.
-
We perform comprehensive user experience testing on every prototype created to gain feedback for the design’s improvement. This stage includes touchpoint considerations, ergonomics, and other usability factors.
-
We will perform iterative cycles for creating and refining the design based on observations obtained from physical testing.
-
Our designers will work with the client to integrate market research and user feedback into the product’s visual appearance. This work can be done in parallel or following functional design.
-
Once a product’s final design has been validated, a series of final prototypes are made at 1:1 scale from correct materials. These prototypes are as close as possible to production units and are useful for marketing, trade shows, in-person product demonstrations, and additional external testing.
-
To validate ideal performance through the product’s simulated lifetime, we subject a final prototype and/or production unit to long-term functional testing.
-
To validate the product’s expected points of failure, we take a final prototype and/or production unit and subject it to worst-case use testing and intentional destruction.
-
Our team will manage any necessary prototyping and testing related outsourcing needs on a project-by-project basis.
